Three Arrested After Assault at Tee Ball Game in Blackwell

On April 8, 2026 at approximately 6:41 pm, the Blackwell Police Department received numerous 911 calls about a fight in the parking lot across from the B Street Ball Fields and gun shots going off. When Officers arrived on the scene, they observed a large crowd of people that had just came out of the baseball game.
Officers on scene were told that some parents had just came out of a Tee ball game and an altercation between several of the parents happened. A physical fight broke out and a female subject pulled out a handgun and fired it into the air at least one time and then pointed it a one of the individuals that was involved in the fight. Shortly after this happened 3 of the people that were involved left the parking lot in a gray Chevy pick-up truck.
A short time later Officers from Blackwell Police Department located the subjects all 3 people were taken into custody. Officers also located a 9mm handgun and two fully loaded magazines.
After interviewing numerous witnesses from the altercation Mattea Ball, Bethany Jacobs, and Deandra Morris-McNeill were arrested for assault and battery, reckless conduct with a firearm, assault and battery with deadly weapon, and accessory to a felony after the fact.
Blackwell Police Department Chief Jay Brewer would like to commend the very fast response from all the members of the Blackwell Police Department along with the Kay County Sheriff Department and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The prompt response to the incident by all Law Enforcement involved is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of Law Enforcement in Kay County.
