(STILLWATER, OK) – On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at approximately 8:26 p.m., the Stillwater Police Department (SPD) responded to reports of a shooting at 300 W. 29th Avenue.
The victim contacted 911 reporting that she had been shot. Officers arrived promptly and were required to force entry into the residence.
Through the investigation, officers identified 33-year-old Megan Kane of Stillwater as the suspect. Kane reportedly fled the scene with two children prior to officers’ arrival.
The victim was transported to Stillwater Medical Center and then Life Flighted to a hospital in Oklahoma City. She is currently listed in stable condition.
SPD Communications disseminated the suspect and vehicle information statewide. At approximately 11:00 p.m., a Kickapoo Tribal Police Officer conducted a traffic stop for speeding at Highway 102 and County Road 1020 in Lincoln, Oklahoma, identifying the suspect vehicle. Kane was taken into custody without incident at 11:04 p.m. and transported to the City of Stillwater Jail.
The two juveniles were located safely in the vehicle and transported to Oklahoma Highway Patrol Headquarters. They were subsequently released to Payne County DHS.
