The party has held petition-signing events for registered Oklahoma voters in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. In Oklahoma City, voters were encouraged to attend a drive-by singing, and in Tulsa, the party collected signatures at the Downtown Tulsa Library.
“Thousands of Oklahomans have already stepped forward because they believe every voter deserves a voice,” said C. J. Webber Neal, co-founder of the Sooner State Party. “We are closer than ever, but we still need 2,879 signatures. This is the moment for citizens across the political spectrum to come together and make sure Independent voters are not left out of the democratic process.”
The party aims to give Independent voters a voice in local elections as they are one of the fastest-growing groups of voters in Oklahoma, according to the Sooner State Party.
This effort is not about left or right — it is about representation,” Neal added. “When people are allowed to participate, confidence in our elections grows stronger. We are inviting every Oklahoman to help build a party created by the people and for the people.
The Sooner State Party said registered Oklahoma voters may sign the petition at upcoming singing events or by contacting the Sooner State Party directly at [email protected].
