SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE TONIGHT – PONCA CITY The National Weather Service is forecasting severe thunderstorms across northern Oklahoma tonight.
Expected Timing for Ponca City• Storms could begin around 7 PM
• Most likely severe window: 9 PM – 1 AM
• Storms may continue until about 3 AM Friday
Potential Hazards• Baseball-size hail possible
• Damaging winds up to 70+ mph
• Low to moderate tornado potential
Storms are expected to move northeast at 35–45 mph, meaning conditions could change quickly once storms develop.
What Residents Should Do• Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings overnight.
• Review your severe weather safety plan now.
• Know your safe shelter location (interior room on the lowest floor away from windows).
• Charge mobile devices in case of power outages.
