OKLAHOMA CITY – A Pryor couple has been convicted by a Tulsa County jury for embezzling funds from the Reckless Saints of Nowhere, a non-profit addiction recovery program they operated from 2017 to 2023.

Jordan and Vanessa Parker were each convicted of two counts of embezzlement and one count of pattern of criminal offenses. The jury assessed the maximum punishment for each count, totaling 18 years imprisonment and $45,000 in fines. The case was prosecuted by Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s Consumer Protection Unit.

“Embezzling funds that were meant to support addicts recovering from substance abuse is indefensible,” Drummond said. “The attorneys, investigators and support staff in my office’s Consumer Protection Unit do a tremendous job ensuring justice in the wake of schemes such as this. We will vigorously prosecute those who misuse charitable contributions for personal gain.”

According to legal affidavits, the Parkers used two donations from a Tulsa business totaling $600,000, which were intended for sober living services for recovering addicts, to purchase a personal vehicle, motorcycle, timeshare, sports memorabilia, video games, rent on their home and more. The donations were received between April and June of 2021. The couple depleted the funds in a matter of months and the Reckless Saints of Nowhere had little to no tangible assets to show for it.

Multiple board members for the organization said they were unaware of the purchases and likely would not have approved the spending due to their personal nature, according to the affidavits.
