Verona, Italy – July, 1938
In the long, hot days of summer, the streets of Verona are filled with the blood and violence of an ancient family feud.
In the center of the chaos stand two young lovers, determined to choose a fate beyond their families all-consuming hate. As the city reels and shatters around them, they cling to each other and their radical love.
William Shakespeare returns to the Ponca Playhouse with the world’s most famous tale of star-crossed love at first sight, in a timely adaptation directed by Emily Rose Parman.
*This production contains depictions of violence and suicide. It also features the use of stage blood and swords. Not recommended for audience members under 12.
Romeo & Juliet will run March 20-22nd & 27-29th, 2026.
