Ponca City Weather Update – Tue. through the Weekend

SHARE NOW
Ponca City remains in an active weather pattern this week with additional chances for thunderstorms.
-Tuesday: Strong to severe storms are possible late afternoon into overnight. Main concerns include damaging winds and hail.
-Wednesday: Additional strong to severe storms are possible late afternoon through the evening, with large hail and damaging winds the primary concerns.
-Thursday–Saturday: Storm chances continue each day, though not everyone will see rain every day. Rain chances gradually decrease by the weekend.
Because of recent rainfall and the potential for additional rain, the ground is becoming increasingly saturated. This can make it easier for trees to become uprooted, especially if strong winds occur. Please use extra caution around trees, power lines, and low-lying areas.
-Be Prepared
• Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.
• Review your severe weather safety plan.
• Secure outdoor items before storms arrive.
• Never drive across flooded roadways.
– Power Outages
If downed trees cause a power outage, report it to Ponca City Energy by calling 580-767-0405 or texting “OUT” to 833-941-4720.

Please do not call 911 or the Police Department for outage reports unless there is an emergency or immediate danger, such as downed power lines, fire, injury, or a blocked roadway creating a hazard.
