Officials say they have finally closed a case that has been in the works for over a year.

In 2024, Game Warden Larry Green received a complaint about a Pawhuska resident who was road hunting and illegally taking deer.

The game wardens immediately launched an investigation into the complaint and checked licensing history, harvest records, and even checking social media.

During a search of the suspect’s property, wardens located multiple illegal deer, hawks, eagles, turkeys, and furbearers.

Officials say the evidence included rotting and wasted venison and various trophies.

In all, game wardens presented 140 separate violations to the Osage County District Attorney’s Office.

Following a plea agreement, the suspect agreed to pay $30,000 in restitution to the State of Oklahoma, pay $2,806 in court costs and fines, and spend 20 weekends in jail.

The suspect also forfeited all long-guns and had hunting and fishing licenses revoked for six years.
