On Wednesday October 22, a PCPD Officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 14th St. and Bradley in Ponca City. During the traffic stop, the officer could see a glass smoking pipe with burned residue, along with two bags which contained a substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine. Additionally, the officer located a loaded .40 caliber handgun within arms reach of the driver.
At that time, the officer arrested 29 year old Carissa Pemberton for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana without a Medical License, Possession of a Firearm After Felony Conviction, Failure to Stop at a Stop Light and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.
It was also determined that earlier, that same day, Pemberton took a plea and entered Drug Court in Kay County District Court for Child Neglect, False Impersonation of Another and Unauthorized Use of a Debit or Credit Card.
Pemberton’s new charges are arrests, not convictions.
