Early Saturday morning, just before 5 a.m., Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers assisted the Mustang Police Department with a vehicle pursuit.
During the pursuit, the passenger fired a gun at law enforcement several times. The vehicle eventually stopped in the yard of a residence on Silver City Ridge Road. The passenger fled on foot and forced his way into the rear of the home. At this time, it is believed the suspect did not know the homeowner.
Troopers located the suspect inside the residence, where he was shot and killed by a trooper. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was injured at some point during the incident and was transported to an Oklahoma City hospital for treatment. At this time, it is unknown how the driver was injured.
No law enforcement officers were injured.
This is an active and ongoing investigation, and there is no threat to the public.
