Kay County Sheriff’s Office-
Attention all residents and commuters, In an effort to enhance safety on our roads the Kay County Commissioners signed a resolution. The speed limit on all roads that are not otherwise posted in the rural areas. Effective immediately, the speed limit will be lowered from 55 miles per hour (mph) to 45 mph. Key Points to Remember:
New Speed Limit: 45 mph on all non-posted roads.
Effective Date: Immediately
ODOT has recently posted the new signs on all state highways entering into Kay County. We have attached a picture of the new signage. This change has been made due to the large amount of complaints on the rural area roadways of motorist driving to fast.
