WASHINGTON (TNND) — Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said that nearly 700,000 SNAP fraudsters have been found in cooperating states, calling it the “tip of the iceberg.”
“Under @POTUS and @VP’s leadership, we’re winning the fight against SNAP fraud,” Rollins posted on X Sunday.

“This is just the tip of the iceberg,” she continued.
“Most blue states are actively shielding what we project are MILLIONS of criminal fraudsters in their states, and billions of dollars of waste and abuse. Why would they do this? We need to protect these programs for the Americans they were designed to help.”
Rollins also included a video clip in her post of an interview she did on Fox News’ “The Big Weekend Show,” in which she said, “The fraud is so rampant and so stunning that when the president, the vice president, and our team talks about, you know, when we can root all this fraud out, we’re gonna really be able to cut the deficit, make sure we’re protecting the taxpayer, but also make sure we’re protecting the families that rely on these programs at the same time by getting the fraud out.”
The secretary’s announcement of the nearly 700,000 fraudsters is an increase from the number that Vice President JD Vance said last month, which was 186,000 dead people who received SNAP benefits and 355,000 people who received double benefits.
President Trump assigned Vance to lead the administration’s anti-fraud task force, which he established by executive order in March.
