Groundbreaking For Broadband Begins In Ponca City

The groundbreaking for the Ponca City Broadband took place on Monday with construction on the outside plan getting underway. Klassmeyer Construction, Inc., headquartered in Conway, Ark., will be constructing all of the outside plant for the Phase 1 service area of the new Utility. Estimated completion date for that construction has been established as June 10, 2019, pending weather delays. Holes were dug underground for an underground portion of the transport ring which will connect the Central Office to the Network Operations Center. Once the transport loop is complete, Klassmeyer will begin installing distribution fiber in the various service areas in Phase 1, then connecting the individual customers who have pre-signed up for the service.
