OKLAHOMA CITY – Less than three weeks after being added to Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s 10 Most Wanted list, Justice Jauquin Jones is in police custody. The 20-year-old, wanted for charges including rape, domestic assault and battery by strangulation, and robbery, turned himself in to authorities in Oregon on Oct. 4.
“This arrest demonstrates the effectiveness of the 10 Most Wanted program in shining a spotlight on Oklahoma’s most dangerous fugitives,” Drummond said. “By highlighting these cases and encouraging public awareness, we create pressure that leads to results. Jones will now face the serious charges awaiting him in Oklahoma.”
Jones was wanted in connection with a July 17 incident in Durant where police say he attacked and repeatedly raped a woman after she tried to break up with him. Law enforcement says he also stole her phone and transferred about $12,000 from her bank account to his own.
Drummond’s 10 Most Wanted program began in September 2024 to spotlight violent fugitives and encourage public assistance in bringing them to justice. Since the program’s launch, 14 fugitives accused of crimes such as murder, rape and drug trafficking have been captured.
