Former Tulsa Area Emergency Management Agency (TAEMA) Director Joe Kralicek has been sentenced to 10 years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections after entering a guilty plea to child-pornography-related charges stemming from his August arrest.

Kralicek was taken into custody on Aug. 7, leading to swift public fallout and his subsequent resignation from TAEMA.

City officials confirmed his departure shortly after the arrest, and Tulsa County leaders convened a special meeting to address interim leadership for the agency.

In a hearing before Judge Michelle Keely, Kralicek formally waived his right to a jury trial and pleaded guilty.

After accepting the plea, the judge found him guilty and imposed a 10-year prison sentence, with the first six years to be served in custody.

The remaining four years will be suspended under the supervision of the Department of Corrections Probation and Parole division.

Kralicek was also ordered to pay a $600 fine, a $150 victims’ assessment fee, and additional court costs.

At his request, the court ordered immediate transportation to DOC custody.

Judge Keely advised him of Oklahoma’s 85% rule, meaning he must serve at least 85% of the incarcerated portion of his sentence, and informed him of his right to appeal.
