DRUMRIGHT, Okla. –
A former Drumright Public Schools teacher has been arrested and charged with multiple felony counts following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct involving students, according to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
Investigation began after allegations reported
The Drumright Police Department requested OSBI assistance on Oct. 7, 2025, after receiving reports of sexual and physical abuse involving Bobby Pruitt, 63, who taught agriculture at Drumright Public Schools.
Authorities said the allegations involved inappropriate contact with two students.
Based on the initial information, Pruitt was placed on administrative leave on Oct. 6, 2025.
Teacher resigned and surrendered license
Investigators said Pruitt had worked as an agriculture teacher for 38 years across multiple Oklahoma school districts.
On Oct. 29, 2025, Pruitt resigned from Drumright Public Schools and surrendered his teaching license to the Oklahoma State Board of Education.
OSBI: Evidence supported criminal charges
During a comprehensive investigation, OSBI agents determined Pruitt did make inappropriate contact with students while teaching.
Based on the evidence gathered, the Creek County District Court issued an arrest warrant charging Pruitt with:
- Two counts of lewd molestation
- Two counts of child sexual abuse
- Two counts of child abuse
- One count of assault and battery
Arrest made in Stroud
On Feb. 1, 2026, Pruitt was located in Stroud by the United States Marshals Service and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
He was arrested and booked into the Creek County Jail on a $1 million bond.
Investigation ongoing
OSBI said the investigation remains ongoing.
The OSBI credited the Drumright Police Department, Drumright Public Schools, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol for assisting with the case.
