PONCA CITY — Phillips 66 Ponca City Refinery has donated $50,000 to the Ponca City Police Department to support a critical upgrade to the department’s radio communication system.
The funding will allow for modernization of equipment and improved reliability in field communications — essential for officer safety, coordinated response, and effective public service during emergency situations.
The improved radio system will strengthen communication across all levels of the department, ensuring seamless interaction between dispatch, patrol officers, and command staff in both routine operations and high-stakes scenarios.
“At Phillips 66, safety and preparedness are part of our core values,” said Carl Perkins, Ponca City Refinery General Manager. “We are proud to support the Ponca City Police Department with this investment, which helps ensure that first responders have the tools they need to stay safe and effectively serve the public.”
The donation is part of the refinery’s ongoing commitment to support local law enforcement and first responders who play a critical role in community safety.
Police chief Richard Evans said, “This generous gift from Phillips 66 allows us to continue upgrading our equipment and gives our officers improved resources to respond quickly and safely during emergencies.”
