On Sept. 11, Pushmataha County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a welfare check near Clayton, where they found two people, an elderly male and female, shot to death.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) says 35-year-old Jeffrey Baker, the couple’s son, was identified as a person of interest in the investigation.

Authorities in Texas say on Tuesday, Baker was spotted walking along an El Paso highway and confronted by local deputies.
After being approached by law enforcement, authorities say Baker shot and killed himself.
Deputies say Baker was carrying multiple handguns, but did not confirm if one of those guns was used in the Oklahoma homicide.
OSBI says it is working alongside the Texas Rangers, who are now leading the investigation.
