Peachtree Landing, Ponca City’s shelter serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness, has launched PTL Winter Refresh and Renew to ensure the shelter remains safe, functional, and welcoming. This work depends on volunteers showing up to help complete the needed improvements.
To allow this work to be completed safely and efficiently, Peachtree Landing will temporarily close beginning Friday, January 16 at 8 am and will reopen on Monday, January 26 at 4 pm. During this time, work will take place throughout the week and over two weekends to complete improvements across the facility.
The PTL Winter Refresh and Renew project focuses on cleaning and organizing storage areas, completing light construction and repairs, painting and refreshing interior spaces, and moving or removing furniture and equipment. These improvements will help ensure that Peachtree Landing is fully prepared to meet the Ponca City standard.
No special skills are required, and individuals and groups are welcome to participate for as little or as much time as they are able. Every volunteer hour makes a real difference, and this project cannot move forward without community participation. Donations to support the materials and supplies needed for this work are also appreciated.
Community members and organizations interested in volunteering or scheduling a group service day are encouraged to contact Caitlin at 762.2873 or email [email protected].
If temperatures drop below 20 degrees during this period, Peachtree Landing will activate Winter Less Cold, and individuals seeking shelter will be admitted between the hours of 5 pm and 9 pm.
