PCPD Warning Residents of Phone Scam

SHARE NOW
Several Ponca City residents have reportedly received phone calls from someone who is impersonating a representative of the Kay County Sheriff’s Office.
In the call, the residents are instructed to go to Walmart and Walgreens to send money orders to the individual. In most cases, the residents have been told that they have outstanding warrants that must be paid or they will be arrested.
Please understand, no representative from a legitimate law enforcement agency will ever contact you by phone and ask you to pay fines through money orders, gift cards, etc.
If you receive any phone calls of this nature, please reach out to your local law enforcement and report it.
