PCPD Offer Tips for Community as School Begins Wednesday

SHARE NOW
PCPS students are heading back to class on Wednesday, August 20th. This means our local children will be walking, biking, and being dropped off near all of our schools. Our officers will be out in force, doing their best to ensure all of our local students arrive and leave school safely. Let’s work together to keep all of our Wildcats safe this year!
When driving near schools, remember to:
🚨SLOW DOWN: Obey posted school zone speed limits.
🚨WATCH CROSSWALKS: Students may walk out unexpectedly.
🚨STOP FOR SCHOOL BUSSES: It’s the law and can save lives.
🚨BE ALERT: Avoid distractions like phones or loud music.
🚨EXPECT DELAYS: Leave early to avoid rushing through school zones.
🚨BE PATIENT: School staff and students are doing their best.
Why it matters:
🚨Children are smaller and harder to see, especially between cars.
🚨Kids can be unpredictable when excited to see friends.
🚨Believe it or not, not all children are excited to be back in school. They may walk with their heads down and not pay attention to their surroundings.
🚨Safe driving helps prevent accidents and saves lives.
🚨Avoid costly citations by observing all posted speed limits.
Please share these tips. The safety of local children is the responsibility of our entire community.
