Two Oklahomans have been drafted by the MLB.

The Washington Nationals chose Eli Willits from Fort Cobb-Broxton High School in Caddo County for their No. 1 pick. At the age of 17, Willits is the youngest No. 1 pick to be chosen in MLB draft history, the Washington Nationals shared.

The Washington Nationals also shared a reel on Facebook of the life-changing phone call to Willits.

During the call, Willits said, “Thank you for giving me the chance. The Nats are a great organization, I can’t wait to get out there and start playing.”

Another Oklahoman, SS/3B Ethan Holliday from Stillwater High School, was the No. 4 pick in the 2025 MLB Draft. His brother, Jackson Holliday, was drafted in 2022.
