Boone Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State University has been named the best college football stadium in the country by USA TODAY.

The ranking, based on over 1,700 reviews from Yelp, Tripadvisor, and Google, awarded the stadium an average of 4.8 stars, placing it ahead of Kansas State’s Bill Snyder Family Stadium and Alabama’s Bryant-Denny Stadium for the top spot among the 136 football bowl subdivision venues.

The stadium, one of the few with an east-west orientation, has been home to the Cowboys for over a century. However, its transformation into a top-tier facility began in the 21st century, following a significant donation from OSU graduate Boone Pickens. In 2003, Pickens contributed $70 million, with $20 million allocated for stadium expansion, initiating the “Next Level Campaign.” This campaign raised over $100 million from more than 2,500 donors.

Renovations included the addition of suites and club seating on the south side in 2004, mirrored by similar upgrades on the north side in 2006. Pickens’ further donation of $165 million in 2006 led to the addition of approximately 20,000 seats on the west side, completing the stadium’s enclosure by the 2008 season. The West End Zone, completed in 2009, houses a football operations center.

Recent upgrades, completed for the 2024 season, included a $55 million enhancement to the seating bowl, increasing legroom and adding new seating options. The stadium now offers premium field-level seating and expanded seating in the east end zone, with a total capacity of 52,168 for the 2025 season.

Upcoming season tickets are available starting at $500 for all seven home games. Tickets can be purchased online at okstate.com/tickets or by calling or texting 877-ALL-4-OSU.
