OBN agents seize 7,531 plants, 571 pounds of processed marijuana from illegal grow in Sand Springs

SAND SPRINGS, Okla. — The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics seized 7,531 plants and 571 pounds of processed marijuana while serving a search warrant at an illegal grow in Sand Springs.

OBN’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) agents served a search warrant at Can Qi Growing LLC near Charles Page Boulevard and South 81st West Avenue on Friday as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.

OBN said arrests are anticipated as the case moves forward.

The Sand Springs Police Department, FBI, DEA, ICE and Tulsa County District 2 County Commissioner Lonnie Sim’ Office assisted with the case.

Since 2021, OBN MET agents have shut down over 6,000 illegal marijuana farms through enforcement or administrative actions for grows tied back to black market trafficking and obtaining an OBN registration by fraud using straw ownership schemes.

OBN said at the end of 2022, 8,400 farms were operating with an active OBN registration. That number is now at around 2,100.
