White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said former President Barack Obama went to “great and nefarious lengths” to delegitimize President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential win by creating “a false narrative” about Russia’s involvement in that year’s election.

She said the truth has come to light nearly 10 years later — and Trump and his closest allies, including members of his family, have finally been vindicated.

This is truly one of the greatest scandals in American history,” she said Wednesday during a news briefing.

There was no collusion, no corruption, except on the part of Barack Obama and the weaponized intelligence agencies at the time,” she added, noting that Trump “had nothing to do with Russia.”

The Russia collusion hoax was a massive fraud, perpetuated on the American people from the very beginning,” she said. “And the worst part of this is Obama knew that truth and so did all the other corrupt officials involved in this scam.”

Leavitt’s comments came after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Trump recently accused Obama of pushing the hoax about Russian collusion.

Gabbard said Obama directed members of the Intelligence Community (IC) to falsify documents and create an assessment that detailed “significant” Russian election meddling, even though it contradicted several other intelligence assessments that had previously been released.

She said she released a “stunning” declassified report Wednesday that shows Obama ordered the IC to go forward with the collusion hoax.

In the report, Gabbard said her office assessed that key intelligence was “manipulated and withheld” from voters.

Garrard, who joined Leavitt at the briefing, said the report revealed “in great detail” how Obama and his team carried this out.

They manufactured findings from shoddy sources, they suppressed evidence and credible intelligence that disproved their false claims, they disobeyed tradecraft intelligence communities standards, and withheld the truth from the American people,” Gabbard said.

We are telling the truth to the American people,” she added, noting that Obama’s goal was to undermine Trump’s victory.

She said Obama and his officials “conspired to subvert the will of the American people, working with their partners in the media to promote the lie, in order to undermine the legitimacy of President Trump, essentially enacting a years-long coup against him.”

Gabbard said she sent the report to the Department of Justice (DOJ). On Monday, the DOJ confirmed it received the criminal referral on the claims in connection to the the election, which Trump won amid a face-off against Hillary Clinton.

Gabbard accused officials from the Obama administration of using their positions for political purposes. She described it as “a treasonous conspiracy.”

Americans will finally learn the truth about how in 2016, intelligence was politicized and weaponized by the most powerful people in the Obama Administration to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President @realDonaldTrump, subverting the will of the American people and undermining our democratic republic,” she wrote on X Friday.

Gabbard’s report specifically called out Obama, as well as former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former CIA Director John Brennan, referencing a December 9, 2016, National Security Council meeting.

“This betrayal concerns every American. The integrity of our democratic republic demands that every person involved be investigated and brought to justice to prevent this from ever happening again,” Gabbard noted on X.

Trump said Obama should be federally prosecuted in wake of the developments.

Obama has been caught directly,” Trump said in the Oval Office on Tuesday.

He’s guilty,” Trump later added. “This was treason, this was every word you could think of. They tried to steal the election. They tried to obfuscate the election.”

Patrick Rodenbush, who is Obama’s spokesman, shared a statement in reaction to Trump’s treason comment.

“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction,” Rodenbush noted.

“Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes. These findings were affirmed in a 202 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then Chairman Marco Rubio,” Rodenbush added.
