The June planetarium show at the Mackie Planetarium on the NOC Enid campus will be offered on Thursday, June 5 at 7 p.m.

Planetarium Director Fritz Osell will show the night sky over Enid during summer and point out where constellations, planets and other interesting objects may be found in the evening sky.  Osell will show where Mars can be seen in the early evening sky near the constellation Leo.

Also, Osell will show visitors the night sky from Enid and point out stars having known planetary systems.   Visitors will be quite surprised at how many stars have planets.

Osell will also present a full dome show for children about stars.

The show is entitled “The Little Star that Could.”   The feature this month will take visitors to Saturn.

June will be the final show for the summer with public shows resuming in October.

Shows will once again be offered on the first Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. throughout the year beginning October 2.

Schools or groups may request shows by contacting planetarium director Fritz Osell by email at: [email protected] or call 580 548-2314.

There is no charge for the shows but donations of non-perishable food items to Our Daily Bread food pantry are accepted.
