Armed Subject on Bridge Detained

Kay County Sherriff Steve Kelley and Osage County Sherriff Eddie Virden responded to an armed subject on Big Snake Bridge. Sherriff Kelley advised that at 9AM a male subject called 911 and reported that he was on his way to hurt someone. Authorities responded to the bridge and located the male with a pistol strapped to his side. Deputies closed Pecan Road all the way to Kelley Avenue as well as South Avenue to Lake Road. Osage County deputies detained the subject by 10:21 am and are determining if any criminal activity took place. Depending on the verdict, the suspect will either be transported to Osage County Jail or a mental health facility.
