Lincoln kindergarten students enjoy petting zoo

Ponca City Now - April 30, 2015 11:41 am

Kindergarten students from Lincoln Elementary School had a special day visiting a petting zoo at the Ponca City Public School Vocational Agricultural farm.

“My students talked to the Lincoln students about the importance of agriculture and about where food comes from," Vo-Ag teacher Kevin Frazier said. "We then entertained them with ‘The Little Red Hen’ puppet show to teach them the importance of sharing, not only the benefits and rewards, but also the responsibility and work."

Each student got to take home a set of paper puppets so they could put on their own puppet show. They had juice and cookies and learned about safety around farm animals.

The visit concluded with a trip to the barn to see a baby goat, baby donkeys and other farm animals.
