Ladd Drummond in Head-on Collision with Caleb Drummond

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a personal injury collision occurred on County Road N3660 approximately 3/10th of a mile north of State Highway 11, approximately 8 miles west of Pawhuska, OK in Osage County at 1:43 p.m..

The report indicates that 21-year-old Caleb G. Drummond of Pawhuska was driving a Himmat Fire Truck southbound, and a lack of visibility on a gravel road resulted in a head-on collision with a Himmat Fire Truck driven by Ladd A. Drummond, age 52, also of Pawhuska, OK.

The elder Drummond refused treatment at the scene. Caleb Drummond was ejected approximately 70 feet from the his vehicle. He was taken by Pawhuska EMS to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Admitted in critical condition with head, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries.

Ladd Drummond is the husband of celebrity chef and author Ree Drummond. Caleb is his nephew.

Also according to the report, the younger Drummond’s vehicle was equipped with seat belts, but they were not in use at the time of the accident. The other vehicle was not equipped with seat belts.

The accident was investigated by Trooper James Armstrong of the Osage County Detachment of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. He was assisted by Osage County Sheriff’s Office, Pawhuska Fire Department, Pawhuska EMS and numerous volunteer fire departments.
