Oklahoma City Police Capt. Larry Withrow says the man refused the officers’ orders to drop the knife and rushed toward one of them. Two officers opened fired and mortally wounded the man, who died later at a local hospital.

Withrow says neither of the officers was injured in the incident and that they have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. They were not identified.
