Juneteenth Celebration begins today

Junteenth Celebrations begin at Attucks Community Center and Attucks Park tonight with a free movie at 6:30 p.m. with free hot dogs, chips and a drink at the center.

At 8 p.m., Funk Da Fied will perform music in the park. Children must be with an adult. This performance is sponsored by a grant from the Ponca City Arts and Humanities Council. Bring your lawn chair, blanket and dancing shoes! Concessions are available.

On Saturday, the Ponca City Fire Department will be distributing smoke alarms at the event for free. The smoke alarms are being provided free to the public and were purchased with grant funds from Phillips 66.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday, bouncies (one water slide) and kids games open

A free picnic lunch will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m.

At 1 p.m., kids bingo will be held at the center.

At 2 p.m, Adult bingo will be held at the center (with a fee).

Also at 2 p.m. there’s bubble soccer (wear something cool.)

Other events include cards, dominos, basketball, hula hoop contest, 3-legged races and more.

At 7:30 p.m., Kevin Keys band will perform music in the park. Children must be with an adult. Concessions are available.

Church service will be at 11 a.m. in the Attucks Center.
