McALESTER, Okla. — Inmate Joe D. Andrus has been apprehended after coming up missing during a 10 a.m. count Wednesday at Jackie Brannon Correctional Center.

Andrus, 33, was located by DOC Fugitive Apprehension & Investigations on U.S. 270 more than a mile away from the facility Wednesday night.

Andrus was serving a sentence for false impersonation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle when he allegedly walked away from JBCC, a minimum security facility for male inmates.

He will likely face a felony charge of escape.
