Humane Society benefits from donations

Greater Good, Rescue Bank, and Animal Rescue site donated eight cases of cat scratchers and 300 cardboard Cat Castles to the Ponca City Humane Society on Friday.

"The castles not only will give our feline friends a place to hang out in their kennels but converts to a cat carrier so they can travel to their new home securely," Humane Society Director Patricia Amador said . "We are beyond grateful for their generosity in donating items for our cats!"

Amador also thanked two pet rescues who donated to the Humane Society’s Food Bank.

"We know that one way to keep an animal in a home during hard times is to help the public feed their pets," she said. "The demand for help last month depleted everything we had. We have had many come in the last week asking for help and we could not. Well we are happy to say that we did get food donated to our bank and we can once again help those in need.

"Those rescues also donated towards our own shelter animals as well," she said. "We have exhausted most of our fund with medical cases this year. The support of others keeps us going as we fundraise for help. We are grateful for the support from other organizations in helping us as well as also allowing us to help others."
