Hometown rally welcomes Hometown Teams exhibit

A true hometown rally welcomed the Smithsonian’s "Hometown Teams" exhibit to the Pioneer Woman Museum on Saturday.

Members of the Ponca City High School sports teams, the band, cheer squad, Hi Steppers, flag team and others sparked enthusiasm in the crowd which gathered for the opening of the exhibit as well as another new exhibit, Women of the Wild West Shows.

Speakers welcoming the crowd included Museum Director Robbin Davis, representatives of the Oklahoma State Historical Society, the Oklahoma Humanities Council, state Reps. John Pfieffer and Steve Vaughan, Vice Mayor MaryBeth Moore, and the Cowboy Kid.

Visitors filled the museum throughout the day viewing the new exhibits.
