Hield Big 12 Player of the Week

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – University of Oklahoma guard Buddy Hield has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week.

Hield was named Player of the Week Monday after averaging 24 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in games against West Virginian and Oklahoma State last week.

Hield had 21 points and eight rebounds in an 86-65 loss at West Virginia, then went 10-for-10 from the field while scoring 27 points in OU’s 82-65 win over OSU in Norman. He also had five rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win over the Cowboys.

Kansas’ Kelly Oubre was named the league’s newcomer of the week.
