Graduation Ceremonies Set For Friday in Ponca City

The Ponca City High School commencement ceremony for the Class of 2022 will be held on Friday, May 20 at Sullins Stadium. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. A live feed of the commencement ceremony will be provided by Ponca City Public Schools on the District Facebook page.

The graduates will receive an address from Autumn Leist, who is the student council president; Valedictorian, Jenna Stockton, who is ranked number two in the class; and Valedictorian, Michael Mayer, who is ranked number one in the class. Kalyn Delaney, senior class secretary, will read a poem and Jill Jackson, student council vice president, will recite the school creed. Following these student speakers, Superintendent Mrs. Shelley Arrott and Principal Mr. Shane Dent will address the Class of 2022. Senior class president, Hattie Steichen, and senior class vice president, Margaret Blackstar will be reading class names. Turning the tassels will be National Honor Society President, Jill Jackson, and National Honor Society Vice President, Virginia Bryce.

Only graduates will be permitted to enter the north ‘visitor’ gate and will be seated in the visitor stands at 7:00 p.m. Photos by Jes will take pictures during the ceremony and post on her website for purchase. Guests will enter at the east and west gates. Seats cannot be reserved before noon on May 20.

In the event of inclement weather, the commencement ceremony will be held in the Robson Fieldhouse, May 20 at 8 p.m. The decision will be made by noon of May 20 and posted to social media, the school website and the 2021-2022 Remind. Guests will be required to have a Rainout Ticket, and doors will open at 6:45 p.m.
