The Ponca City Fire and Life Safety Council announces a free car seat safety from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29, in the Ponca Plaza parking lot.

Families with children of car seat age are encouraged to participate. Certified technicians will inspect the existing car seat to ensure it has not been subject to recall and is in safe condition for continued use. The technicians will also verify that the car seat is the appropriate size for the child and that it is installed properly.

Car seats will be available for a $20 donation should there be a need. The Fire and Life Safety Council is a 501-c3 organization whose mission is to promote fire prevention and life safety through education, training, and events to improve the quality of life for all citizens in Kay County.
