Four injured in Wednesday accident

The Ponca City Police Department is continuing its investigation into an injury accident which occurred at 2:46 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Ash Street and Grand Avenue.

The driver of a black Dodge Avenger was identified as Breanna Knowlton, 23, of Ponca City.  She suffered injuries to both legs and was written a citation for driving left of center.

The investigating officer is awaiting results of blood work to determine if other charges are needed.

Her passenger was Kalea Harman, 21, of Blackwell.  She has internal injuries and an injured left ankle.

The driver of a red Dodge Ram was Chet Cook, 57 of Ponca City.  His injuries were minor.  His passenger was Brenda Carnes Cook, 56, also of Ponca City, who suffered hip injuries.

The accident report said a bus was eastbound on Grand Avenue and turned north on Ash.  The red truck was behind the bus.

According to witnesses, the black car was speeding westbound, crossed the center line and hit the red truck head on.
