TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A former Oklahoma probation and parole officer has been sentenced to two years in prison for sexually assaulting two women that he supervised while they were on probation.

Court documents show 35-year-old Steven Powers was sentenced on Tuesday in federal court in Tulsa.

Powers pleaded guilty in August to two counts of deprivation of rights under color of law. In a signed plea agreement, Powers admitted that he sexually assaulted two women he supervised as a probation officer in 2016 and 2017.

As part of the plea agreement, Powers also agreed to plead guilty to related state sexual misconduct charges. His sentence on the state charges will be served concurrently with the federal sentence. He also agreed to forfeit his law enforcement certification.
