Five earthquakes shake area in 12 hours

Five earthquakes have been recorded in northern Oklahoma in the past day, with a sixth recorded just north of the Kansas-Oklahoma border.

Since 7:36 p.m. Wednesday, a 3.3-magnitude earthquake was recorded 11 kilometers north-northwest of Medford. Others were a 2.9-magnitude 4 kilometers north of Cherokee at 9:56 p.m.; a 3.1-magnitude recorded 6 kilometers east-northeast of Cherokee at 6:09 p.m.; a 3.8 magnitude 8 kilometers east-southeast of Helena at 1:06 a.m. Thursday; a 2.9 magnitude 18 kilometers east-southeast of Anthony, Kansas at 4:32 a.m., and a 4.3 magnitude 8 kiilometers east-northeast of Cherokee at 9:08 a.m.
