20 White Eagle Dr, Ponca City, OK
The Ponca Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma proudly invites you to the 150th Annual Ponca Celebration Powwow, taking place August 27–30, 2026, at White Eagle Park. This historic celebration will feature one of Indian Country’s most prestigious competitions—the World Championship Fancy Dance Contest, where champions truly meet champions.
On Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Ponca Powwow Committee will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Ponca Tribe earning the right to host the World Championship Fancy Dance Contest. In 1926, Ponca tribal member Augustus Hurley McDonald secured this honor at the Haskell Institute, establishing a tradition that has become legendary in the powwow world.
To celebrate this centennial milestone, the Committee will award $10,000 to the 2026 World Champion Fancy Dancer, honoring a century of excellence, competition, and cultural pride. Fancy dancers from across the country are encouraged to come compete and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.
Join us at White Eagle Park for four days of dancing, singing, tradition, and fellowship as we celebrate 150 years of the Ponca Celebration Powwow and honor a century of championship Fancy Dance tradition.
Special thanks to the Fancy Dance Casino and all event sponsors for helping make this historic celebration possible.
