EnDUI campaign targets impaired drivers

Ponca City Now - December 8, 2015 8:37 am

The Ponca City Police Department continues its partnership with the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office as they participate in the national campaign called ENDUI.

ENDUI is a campaign directed towards removing drunken or drugged drivers from our streets. This campaign begins Dec. 15 and runs through Jan. 3, 2016.

According to Patrol Division Captain Earl Watkins “At least one traffic checkpoint will done during this campaign and possibly two.”

“ Accidents involving drinking or the illegal use of drugs while driving are totally preventable,” Watkins said.

Officers trained to detect impaired drivers will be proactively searching for drivers throughout the campaign.
