Emergency crews respond to pedestrian accident

Ponca City emergency crews responded to First Street and Highland Avenue about 10 a.m. Thursday in response to a pedestrian accident.

A woman fell from the overpass crossing Highland Avenue into the westbound lanes of the roadway below.

Ambulance crews including paramedics responded and called for a helicopter to transport the woman to a larger hospital. Ponca City Police officers responded to provide traffic control.

The woman was transported to Alliance Ponca City Hospital to meet the helicopter.
