Early Voting Starts Thursday March 31

Early voting begins Thursday March 31, 2022 for voters in Kay County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.

What voters will be voting on:

-City of Newkirk City Commissioner No. 2 and a Sales Tax Proposition,

-Newkirk School District will be voting on Board of Education Office No.2 Board Member.

-Ponca City School District will be voting on Board of Education Office No. 2 Board Member and Office No.4 Board Member.

-Tonkawa School District will be voting on Board of Education Office No. 2 Board Member.

-Billing School District will be voting on Board of Education Offices No. 1 Board Member, Office No. 2 Board Member and Office No. 5 Board Member.

Kay County Election Board Secretary, Carol Leaming, said early voting is open to all voters.

“You do not need to provide an excuse to voter early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all election conducted through the State Election Board from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Leaming said.

Early voting is available Thursday, March 31st and Friday, April 1st from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the County Election Board located at 219 S. Main Street in the Kay County Administration Building in Newkirk.

Leaming reminds voters that early voting is not available at polling locations.

The Kay County Election Board is located at 219 S. Main Street in the Kay County Administration Building in Newkirk, and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
