Competitive blood drive Tuesday July 18

The famous Guns and Hoses blood drive for the Oklahoma Blood Institute is set for Tuesday, July 18.

This annual competition pits the Ponca City Fire Department against the Ponca City Police Department to see which agency can draw the most donors during the day.

Each department will get a three-hour window to try to encourage the most donors to give a pint for their team’s total.

The OBI Bloodmobile will be at Station 1 of the Ponca City Fire Department at Fifth Street and Grand Avenue from 9 a.m. to noon. Then in the afternoon, it will move to the Ponca City Police Department at 200 East Oklahoma Ave. from 2 to 5 p.m.

All donors will receive a voucher for two entries to the Oklahoma City Zoo and a limited edition Guns & Hoses T-shirt. A photo ID is required.
