STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — A selection committee will recommend Dr. Kayse Shrum as the next president of Oklahoma State University. The committee on late Friday selected Shrum after spending two days interviewing finalists to succeed retiring OSU President Burns Hargis. The OSU/A&M Board of Regents is to meet April 23 to confirm the selection.

Shrum is currently president of the OSU Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa and was a member of Gov. Kevin Stitt’s cabinet as secretary of science and innovation. Shrum becomes the 19th president of OSU and the first woman to lead the university.
