Commissioners approve rezoning petition

Ponca City’s Board of Commissioners approved a rezoning petition for 109 West Prospect Monday night to rezone the property from R-2 two-family residential to C-2 General Commercial.

During a public hearing on the zoning request, owner Don Kinsinger said he closed his business four years ago and it has been for sale.

The change in zoning is expected to make the sale easier for him and is consistent with other property uses in the area, although some businesses at the intersection of Prospect and Union have been grandfathered in with different zoning designations for decades.
