Chamber Chat

Ponca City Now - March 23, 2015 8:35 am

The Education and Workforce Development Committee will present the importance of getting a high school diploma to all East eighth grade students on Wednesday.

The program shows how much having a high school diploma can help with the rest of your life. In the program, we show, on average, what an individual can expect to make at different levels of education, as well as what the cost of living, on average, is in Ponca City.

This is an important effort by the Chamber of Commerce to lower the dropout rate in Ponca City and show the importance of a high school degree. This is the ninth year the Chamber has offered this program to eighth graders.

On Tuesday we have Business after Hours, hosted by RCB Bank for all chamber members from 5 to 7 p.m. at their main located at 14 th Street and Highland Avenue.

Friday we have Ponca Politics Forum with Sen. Fields, Rep. Vaughan and Rep. Pfeiffer starting at noon at City Hall. Please join us. We want you to be informed about what is happening at the State Capitol.

Also this week the Chamber Board, Tourism Bureau and Ponca Politics Committee will meet, plus we will have a PRIDE Training on quality customer service.
