All Chamber Members are invited to our February Business after Hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, hosted by Osage Casino. It will feature great food and will be lots of fun. If you are a Chamber Member please plan to attend.

The Education and Workforce Development Committee will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at Teen Pep. Here are the objective and goals set by the committee for 2017.

Objective: Support all local education systems, organizations and agencies. Provide an open format that allows for educational and workforce issues to be presented.

Goals: To seek support of Chamber Businesses for the (PIE) Partners in Education Program so that each school has at least two active partners.

To support educational programs such as elementary school mentoring.

To present the 8th Grade Oklahoma Scholars Program and the PRIDE program at Ponca City High School.

To provide information to the Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee on education and workforce issues.

To host a new teacher luncheon.

To host a support staff appreciation day.

To hold a “Stuff the Bus” school supply collection event.

To conduct on-site visits of our local schools and the workforce office.

To prepare and distribute a summer children’s activity handout.

Meeting Date: First Thursday at 4 p.m., at various school sites during the school year. Committee does not meet in January or July.
