Camp McFadden invites you to join its party

Ponca City Now - January 23, 2014 6:19 am

Camp McFadden at Kaw Lake is trying to clean up its trails.

They are asking for volunteers to come to their work party.

But don’t let the word work scare you, Mickie Schmith, camp director said it’s not hard labor.

“We try to have fun and get people involved in things that make them happy," Schmith said. "My wife for example is a huge yard worker, she just likes to be outside.”

The work party will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteers can come and go as they please, and all ages are welcome.

Camp manager, Kyle Shepard said they want to reopen some trails too.

They are asking you to bring any yard tools or hand saws you can cut limbs with.

They are also asking you wear appropriate attire.

“So, Tennis shoes, jeans, boots things like that,” Shepard said.

It’s suppose to be sunny and in the high 50’s this weekend!

A great weekend to be outside.

Not too hot or too cold.
